Ham Radio Deluxe v6.8.0.266 Released

The 6.8.0.266 version of Ham Radio Deluxe is now available for download. Please download it from the Download pages on our website at:

This release is a really fantastic release. There's so much to talk about.

First, I'd like to than our developers and beta testers who put tons of time into this release.

Second, I'd like to tell you what's in the release.

Label Printing - As of this release, 100% of the open defects related to printing are resolved. We've had a "love/hate" relationship with labels for many years. [Editorial note: I've never been happy with our labeling before. But I'm absolutely thrilled with it now.]

With this release, we have moved to 3rd party external code libraries for printing labels; though the user interface is ours. These same libraries are used within very well-known software packages and used by many large corporate environments. What this means is that the label dimensions now come from the print driver for your printing device or they come from Avery templates embedded in the 3rd party code libraries.

Label printing is highly accurate. The columns in the labels will automatically adjust their widths to allow you to use larger fonts. The print preview looks fantastic. It has the ability to zoom, rotate, and flip through the pages of the outpout prior to printing. There's an option to bypass the print preview and print labels immediately. Printers with multiple rolls or paper trays are supported.

Don't care for labels? No problem. You can print directly on your pre-printed card. You can even add an image and make your own card!

Oh! And Outgoing QSL Bureau Filtering and Sorting now is excellent. Select a ton of QSOs for printing and choose "Bureau Filtered and Sorted." Labels will automaticaly filter the list and print only for those countries served by the outgoing QSL bureau - sorted in the standard required sorting.

If you're using the recommended integration between WSJT-X and HRD Logbook, the QSO Forwarding was improved to enable the callsign lookup process to populate the US County field. US County Hunters will love this.

The use of "B4" has been standardized across DX Cluster and HRD Alert. When you are displaying the "B4" column now, it will show you whether you have "Not Worked, Worked/Not Confirmed, or Confirmed" a displayed station on that same Band and Modegroup (CW, Phone, & Digital). This will enable you to immediately see whether or not you have already worked a particular callsign on the displayed Band and Modegroup. You can now skip DX Clutser and HRD Alert alarms for stations you've worked "B4."

Worked Status Indicators (WSIs) across the board have been aligned within DX Cluster and HRD Alert to Modegroups per an improved universal band plan.

This release resolves an issue related to importing large logs via ADIF and restores the ability to click a field in DM-780 and have that field's data added to the transmit pane.

Finally, a considerable amount of effort was placed into resolving issues for non-Access databases, memory utilization, and crash reports. We - the HRD Software support staff, developers, and team of beta testers - put a lot of effort into recreating crash scenarios.

To get into the detail a bit further, there were some things that we missed in the initial 6.8 release related to non-Access databases like MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft SQL Express Edition. Our beta testers have tested all of these. It's our desire to continue to fully support non-Access databases.

Within 24 hrs, I will have a companion "Release Notes" video up on our YouTube channel. Please visit to hear me discuss the release in more detail. I will talk about what we're working on next - Ham Radio Deluxe YouTube Channel
