Ham Radio Deluxe® Rotor Control gives you full computer control of your antenna rotor directly from your station PC. Whether you're chasing DX on HF, working satellites on VHF/UHF, or running a contest, automated beam pointing means you spend less time turning knobs and more time making contacts.
Integrating natively with HRD Logbook and HRD Satellite Tracking, Rotor Control manages beam headings via any computer-interfaced rotor controller. When you click a callsign in Logbook, Rotor Control automatically points your antenna to that station's bearing. When working a satellite pass, Rotor Control receives real-time azimuth and elevation data from HRD Satellite Tracking and keeps your antennas locked on the bird throughout the entire pass — no manual intervention required.
Many modern control boxes such as the M2 RC2800PX, Green Heron RT-2x series, Yaesu GS-232, MDS RC-1, and HyGain DCU series controllers have computer control capability. Many more can be fitted for computer control — HRD Rotor Control supports a wide range of interfaces to put your existing hardware to work.
Rotor Control displays a Mercator or great circle projection map that enables click-to-point rotor operation. Drop-down country lists make it easy to find rare DX entities: simply select the country name to point your beam and start calling. Built-in stop and offset correction provisions ensure your antenna points accurately even if your rotor has mechanical backlash or a calibration offset.
HRD Rotor Control supports the following antenna rotor controllers:
AlfaSpid RAS/RAK, EA4TX, Easycom I/II, Green Heron RT-20/21, HyGain DCU 1/2, Idiom Press, M2 RC-2800 PX, MDS RC-1, Prosistel B/C/D, Yaesu G-232
Rotor Control is the finishing touch for a fully automated ham radio station. Combined with HRD Rig Control for CAT control of your transceiver, HRD Logbook for QSO logging and award tracking, and HRD Satellite Tracking for Doppler correction, every element of your station works together as a single coordinated system. When a DX spot appears on the bandmap, HRD can tune your radio to the frequency and point your antenna to the bearing — automatically.
For satellite operators, the Rotor Control and Satellite Tracking combination is particularly powerful. Az/El antenna systems that once required constant manual adjustments throughout a pass now track automatically, leaving you free to focus on operating. Whether you're working LEO satellites on 2m/70cm or running EME, HRD gives you the automation tools that were once only available to large contest stations.
