Ham Radio Deluxe® Rig Control

Ham Radio Deluxe provides CAT (Computer Aided Transceiver) control for over 100 radios from every major amateur radio manufacturer. Whether you're running a classic Kenwood TS-590, a modern Icom IC-7300, or an Elecraft K3, HRD Rig Control gives you full computer control of your transceiver — frequency, mode, VFO, memory channels, and more — directly from your PC.

Radios marked with an asterisk (*) below are Panadapter Capable, meaning Ham Radio Deluxe can display a live spectrum scope synchronized to your rig. This is particularly valuable for DXers and contest operators who want a visual picture of band activity without a separate SDR receiver.

All rig control connections are managed exclusively by HRD Rig Control, which acts as the central interface between your radio's COM port and any other software running on your station PC — including WSJT-X for FT8 logging. This prevents COM port conflicts and ensures frequency changes are reflected consistently across your entire station.

The supported radio list is updated with each new release of Ham Radio Deluxe. Since sole ownership transferred to WA9PIE in 2021, hardware support has been a continuous development priority — when a new transceiver hits the market, adding HRD support is on the roadmap. If your radio isn't listed, check the latest release notes or post in the peer support forums to request support for your model.
